My first experience with photography was at a young age with a camera given to me by my grandfather. I built my first darkroom in my early teens and spent many hours developing and printing my own pictures. Seeing my first role of developed film got me hooked!
I was able to continue with my passion at school and did photography as part of my art sylabus. After finishing school I studied photography at the Natal Technikon and then moved to Cape Town where I spent the next twenty or so years pursuing the commercial aspects of photography. I was very fortunate to be involved wth the very first digital studio in Cape Town back in 1996,
Throughout my photographic career I have always tried to balance the commercial side of things with time spent pursuing my own ideas and shooting the beauty around me in the natural world. The flora angle has been a wonderful journey. Not only from a visual photographic perspective but also from a learning perspective for myself.
After a few years living on the Garden Route I have now more recently relocated back to my old home of KwaZulu Natal and I presently reside on the South Coast close to the town of Margate.
Thanks for visiting.
